Motivating Employees A learning organization requires a high level of motivation, commitment, and dedication from everyone within the organization. The success of many leadership styles is predicated on highly motivated employees. Senge identified a high level of motivation as being critical in several of the five disciplines. Compare and contrast the following theories of motivation: Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Alderfer’s Existence-Relatedness-Growth (ERG) Theory, Herzberg’s Motivation-Hygiene Theory, and Vroom’s Expectancy Theory.
